BIG AMERICAN ORDER

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 10. The Pennsylvania Railroad Company to-day announced that it had placed orders for fifty-seven electric engines “to be the most powerful electric passenger locomotives ever built in the world.” This is one of the largest locomotive equipment orders in the history of the United States railroads, involving 15,000,000 dollars. The engnes have been designed for operating at a soecd of 90 miles an hours, hauling trains of standard size and length.
