M c GREGOR AND WALKER!

The Centenary Air Race brought many surprises, but none so groat to many residents of this district as the wonderful performance of SquadronLeader McGregor, D.F.C. and Bar, and Mr H. C. Walker in their diminutive Miles Hawk machine. However, the confidence of those who fought for and backed them lias boon justified and now they are aboard the Monowai homeward bound. They will arrive at Milson Aerodrome on Wednesday. November 14. Messrs Hewett and Kay are in .Sydney preparing to fly the Tasman to Auckland to be in time to arrive in Palmerston North the same day as “Mac” and “Johnny.” Just think of it. Tho two most up-to-date and fastest civil aeroplanes will _ be here together for you to see and fly in if you wish. In addition, three Government machines a Glostcr-Grcbc, a Hawker Tomtit and a Bristol fighter, and many visiting machines will be here. Is that all ? No I Dave Allen, of Auckland, Gerry Gcrrand, of Ilawko’s Bay, Jack Buckcridgc, of Masterton, and George Bolt, of Wellington, are coming to give thrilling exhibitions of flying, Dave Allen stunting, Gcrrand and Buckeridge fighting and George Bolt crazy flying. What a feast! Exhibitions will be given in the Gloster-Grebe (capable of 160 miles per hour) and there will be plenty to interest all. Passenger flights will be taken in the Milos Hawk (3-seaterl and the Rapide Dragon (10-scater) by tho air race fliers. Elaborate parking arrangements Tiavo been made, there will be room, for all and a loud-speaker system will keep tho public posted as to all that is going on. At night a monster Aero Ball will be held in the P.D.C. Ballroom at a popular price, and the air race and visiting pilots will be present. If tho weather is fine, a gathering of famous pilots and varied types of machines such as has never before been seen in New Zealand will bo held in the Manawatu and the public of Manawatu will have the opportunity of demonstrating its admiration of its own intrepid pair, which should bo done in no uncertain manner as no greater advertisement has ever been given this district than their effort. Think of it: Manawatu is the homo of the holders of the world’s light plane record from London to Darwin —5 days 14j hours. With only one engine, and open cockpits they did it. Now do your bit and be tnero to woloome them homo.
