JUNIOR MATCHES
In the cricket competitions conducted by the Manawatu Primary Schools’ Association yesterday, Terrace End junior A beat Milson by 82 runs to 32. For the winners B. Hardie made 16, W. Henderson 12, B. Foy 11, G. Nash 11 (retired) and E. Weston 10 (retired). For Milson, Gilbert headed the returns with 13, while AVrigbt made 10. Bowling for Terrace End, Walker took eight wickets for 19 runs, and Sinclair one for none.
Hokowhitu 89 (Smith 25 retired, Miles 22 retired, Shapleski 13) beat Terrace End B, 45 (Highsted 15, J. AVeston 13). Bowling for the winners, Hambring took seven wickets for 20 runs', and Hughes two for 8, while for Terrace End McConaghty took four for 23, and Booker two for 11. In the senior division Terrace End defeated AA 7 est End by 57 runs. Kitching was top scorer for Terrace End with 25, while Hewat made 17, Arlidge 12 and Duncalf 12, the innings closing at 92. AVest End were dismissed for 35, Hatch being responsible for 18 of the runs. Bowling for Terrace End, Ivitching took six wickets for 12. runs and Arlidge four for 11, while for West End, Mouldey was the most successful trundler, capturing five wickets.
