TALK OF RENUNCIATION. BY THE EX-KING. Received May 24, 9.10 a.m. MADRID, May 22. A report that ex-King Alfonso lias renounced the throne is unconfirmed, but there is no doubt that a considerable section of the Monarchists would welcome the step and would support the infant Juan, uniting the two groups with 43 Deputies in the Cortes. In addition 95 per cent, of tlie Catholics under Senor Gilrobles are believed to be Monarchists at heart.
