GOLF.
The Feilding Golf Club played the October bogev fixture on Saturday afternoon. D. J. winning the senior grade and J. M. Campbell the junior. Details of the scores are as under: —Senior: D. J. Pryde, 3 up; T. Williams and F. Fawcett, 1 up; E. Fair, all square; B. Connell. 1 down; P. G. Miles, L. Gorton and L. M. Giesen, 2 down; R. L. Harding. 3 down. Junior: J. M. Campbell. 1 up; J. Simpson, 1 down ; J. C. Hill, K, Ashcroft and W. R. Allen. 3 down; G. L. Ewen. 4 down. In the final for the Gonville Saunders Cup J. Telford ben.t G. Darragh. CHURCH CONCERT. The concert held in the Parish Hall on Friday evening in aid of funds for the painting of St. John’s Anglican Church was well supported and an enjoyable programme was presented to those who attended. An orchestra under Mr E. A. Golding, comprising Mrs J.. G. Eliott. Miss B. Eliott. Messrs Wood and Farmer, supplied music; songs were rendered by Mrs Golding, Messrs Durie brothers, and Mr Merritt; while three playettes proved quite diverting. The Maori trio also enlivened proceedings with ha.kas and melodious music. Supper followed the concert, when Rev. Canon Petrie took the opportunity of thanking those responsible for the concert and paid a tribute to the work of the Church Mite Society. The function closed with dancing, the Durie Bros, and Mr J. Rosoman supplying the music.
