GARRISON BAND CARNIVAL.
Tbo first evening session of tho Garrison Band’s Carnival is being held to-night in the Empire Hall, when an attractive display of Irish dancing is to be staged and admission to all sessions is free. Supporters of the band and others in search of entertainment are urged to be present. This evening and to-morrow and Friday evenings dancing may be enjoyed for the sum of Id a dance. A splendid programme of fancy dancing is to be given by the pupils of Aliss Gwen Gibbs to-morrow evening, and the High School boys will give a physical culture display. Fancy dancing by Miss Jean Scott and pupils is to be a feature of Friday evening’s entertainment. On Saturday afternoon there wil 1 be a competition for prizes for the best plain scones, plain and butter sponges, sponge rolls, and pikelets. In the evening a big coster dance will bo held which will bo a fitting wind-up to tho carnival. The fee has been fixed at the low price of 3d per dance. In addition to these_ attractions there will be a weight guessing competition for a sheep presented by Air J. Linklatcr, M.l’., as well as games and competitions.
