COMPILING INFORMATION
GISBORNE, Sept. 25,
Possibly in anticipation of requests for information from Parliamentary sources as well a.s from the district railway committee m Poverty Bay, the Minister of Public Works lias directed the preparation by the Gisborne office of his department of a comprehensive file respecting the Waikokopu-Gisborne section of the East Coast railway. The report does not represent an economic survey, it is understood, but is to be a statement of the amount of work already carried out on the line, a list of the plant and material still located on railway works between Gisborne and Wa.ikokopu and a complete set of plans relating to the section under review.
