DEATH WHILE AT PLAY.
FATE OF SMALL BOY
SIDE PIERCED BY STAKE,
KAITAIA, Sept. 25. An accident while at play resulted in the death of Albert Clarence Broth, fourth son of Mr and Mrs S. B. Brott, of Kaitaia.
In the morning the boy, who was 10 years of age, left bis parents’ home to go to the farm of his uncle, Mr Arthur Foster, on the Kaitaia-Awnnui Road. 'While playing in the garden with two companions-, he tripped over a small drain and a sharp stake pierced bis left side beneath the arm, about Gin. penetrating the body. “Don’t play any more, I’ve hurt myself,” the injured boy called out to his companions, and lie died almost as soon as bis aunt, Mrs Foster, who bad come from the bouse, attracted by the boy’s cries, reached the scene of the accident.
