The Weekly Despatch says that Mr Do Valera’s trump card will be the introduction of a Bill establishing a State Credit Association, with an initial capital of £5,000,000,- to finance new industries. A my’stery move is the establishment of a new enterprise exploiting a principal product and tremendously affecting industrial life. RIVAL GROUPS. ACTIVITY IN IRELAND Received September 25, 12.50 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 24. Armed guards ambushed a number of National Guards near Dingle. They fired a volley without result, then emerged from a hedge and ordered the Bine Shirts to proceed. The men in ambush then fired again, wounding a Dingle publican. Mr Martin Fitzgerald. Three arrests have been made: Pattrick Devane, Thomas Collins and Robert Miles. They were remanded on a charge of wounding Fitzgerald with intent to murder. There were exciting scenes at an open-air meeting in Limerick, addressed by General O’Duffy and Mr Cosgrave. Frequent baton charges were made by Civic Guards and 20 persons were sent to hospital. Thirty-three were treated for injuries at Limerick Hospital following the disturbances. Five detained rioters attempted to set fire to three motor cars outside the Blue Shirt leaders’ hotel and shots were fired at the Civic Guards purauing the rioters.
