Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Sept. 24. The first match in the New Zealand amateur billiards championship was played last night. J. Martin, the Canterbury champion, heat A. Duncan, the Wellington champion, by 626 to 601. PROGRESS RESULT. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 25. At the New Zealand amateur billiards championship tourney, S. Hackett (Auckland) beat W. Karaitiana (Kaiapoi) 666—573.
