QUEEN CARNIVAL.
SELECTION OF FARMERS’ CANDIDATE. Three nominations were received at a meeting held this morning to consider the choosing cf the Farmers’ Queen for the coming queen carnival to raise funds for the Central Relief Committee. The meeting held a short discussion, and in the unavoidable absence of Mr W. S. Carter it was decided to refer the final selection of the candidate to the executive. Mr J. A. McLeavey presided, and apologies were received from Messrs J. Romley, D. Collis, R. Tanner, J. Batchelar, H. Christmas and W. S. Carter.
