SOCIAL FUNCTIONS.
Last Saturday evening, St., Patrick’s Parish Hall was the scene of ''a most enjoyable evening, the occasion being a dance given by Mr and Mrs Otsoski to the many friends of their daughter and son-in-law (Mr and Mrs H. Kempson). Music was supplied by, a professional orchestra. During the evening the many guests were entertained with songs most ably rendered by Miss Myra Wilson, accompanied by Miss Margaret Hynes. Novelties caused merriment among the dancers, various competitions being won by Misses B. Jackson, N. Hawkins and Z. Robinson and Mr Bodel. The evening was terminated by the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” Among those present were Alesdames F. Ofsoski. Bodel, Kempson, Little, Hynes, Jackson, Ramsay, W. Bodel, H. Kenpson; Misses U. Rodgers, B. Jackson, P. Wilson, M. Rodgers, Tv. Bird, Al. Andrews, M. Wilson, Al. Hynes, I. Rodgers, N. Hawkins, H. Simmonds, W. Warn, P. McKenzie, K. McDonald. M. Abraham, Myra Wilson, E. Worsfold, A. Jackson, A. Bonisch, Molly Hynes, C. Kempson, M. Kempson, Z. Robinson, K. McKenzie, Seblyn M. Bodel, P. Ramsay. N. McKenzie, 0. Mills, Elsie Dawe, E. Meecham; Messrs F. Ofsoski, B. Ofsoski, R. EKempson, E. Bodel, F. Jackson, L. Little, H. Kempson, T. Madgwick, C. Barltrop, K. Rodgers, J. O’Day, N. Lowe. L. Robert, P. Quigan. H. Kempson, S. Rodgers, L. Bodel, B. Bodel, T. Donoghue, C. Warn, Cater, Robinson, B. Whitehead, A. F. Jackson, J. McKenzie, Brett, R. Ofsoski, A. South, P. South and J. Long. . The Central School dance, held in the assembly ball last evening, was a success, as usual, close on 150 couples attending. The winners of the Monte Carlo waltz were Miss Lavin and Mr E. Parker, while the lucky Gay Gordons prize-winners were Miss Duckworth and Mr T. Smith. Extras were played by Mr Morris. A dainty supper was supplied by the ladies’ committee and Mr A. Gordon acted as M.C. with his usual efficiency. A danoe was held at Newbury, last evening, and a very enjoyable time resulted. Euchre was held for those who preferred cards to dancing, and the prizes in this section were won as follow: Ladies, Mrs J. Choetham 1, Mrs Shaw 2; men, Mr Laughton 1, Mr J. Scrimshaw 2; ladies’ consolation, Mrs Richardson; men’s consolation, Mr Proctor. The music was supplied by Mrs Grant, Mrs T. Little, Air Powell, Air Rich, Air P. Collins and Alossrs Wood. A competition for a cake (donated by Airs Lancaster) was won by Lennie Knight.
