L.M.S. NEW RECORD. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 20. A maximum speed of 02 miles an hour was attained by the London, Midland and Scottish express train, with seven coaches, hauled by an engine of the Royal Scottish, between Coventry and London. The Cheltenham Flyer remains the world’s fastest train, for although its maximum speed has now been equalled, its average speed on the Swindon-Pad-dington run is 81.6 miles per hour, compared with 74 miles per hour of the Coventry-London express.
