EARLY STATEMENT SOUGHT. WELLINGTON, Sept. 22. A request for an early statement from the Government concerning the exchange rate was made by Air C. H. Chapman in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon, when giving notice of a question which he proposes to ask the Prime Alinister. Air Chapman contended that the present rate of 25 per cent, was a direct cause of much unemployment, and said that if reasonable notice was given of any proposed reduction, speculation would be minimised.
