PIGEON RACING.
The Palmerston North Homing Club flew their first north race of the season on last Saturday, from Taumarunui, a distance of 102 miles air line. The birds had a following wind and fairly good velocities were recorded. Results were: —G. Smith’s Live Wire, velocity 136.26yd5., 1; R. Wills’s Red Day, j.352.22yd5., 2; R. McPherson’s Red Aero, 1351.78yd5. 3; S. Johnson’s Black Sand, 1343.76yd5. 4; D. Thompson’s Blue Mint, 1338.2 yds., 5.
