MARTON, Sept. 21. Past and present pupils of the Marton District High School tried conclusions on the field of sport yesterday afternoon in the presence of a largo number of spectators. Results were:—Rugby football: Old Boys 27 v. School 3. Hockey: Old Girls 2 v. School 0. Basketball: School 10 v. Old Girls 3. Members of tho Marton Golf Club played a return match against Rangatira on the latter’s links yesterday afternoon. Marten won the singles; while tho four-ball was halved—threo wins each. Detailed results, Marton players being mentioned first • —Singles: H. W. Collier lost to L. Whetton. N. D. Anderson lost to E. W. Donovan, R. H. Leonard lost to B. Illston, H. Coleman won from L. Illston, M. Atkinson won from A. V. Sutton, K. Atkinson lost to J. Potaka, C. Webb won from I. Lourio, M. N. Atkinson lost to J. Lourie, R. A. Church won from R. 11. Piteaithly, F. Wood won from H. Fox, G. Simpson won from S. Savery, P. Wootton won from W. O’Brien. Four-ball: Collier and Anderson lost to Whctton and Donovan, Leonard and Coleman lost to B. and L. Illston, M. and K. Atkinson won from Sutton and Potaka, Webb and Atkinson lost to I. and J. Lourie, Church and Wood won from Piteaithly and Fox, Simpson and Wootton won from Savery and O'Brien.
