GOLF TITLE

PLAY AT NAPIER. Per Press Association. NAPIER, Sept. 21. The final of the Hawke’s Bay ladies’ golf championship at the Napier club’s tournament resulted in Mrs Clark (New Plymouth) defeating Miss 0. Smith (Napier), 4 and 3. Mrs Clark appeared to be the steadier of the two, constantly out-driving her opponent. Weakness in putting was the main cause of Mrs Smith’s defeat. Mrs H. Collinson headed the list for the qualifying rounds at the tournament with cards of S2 and 83, her total being seven strokes better than that of Miss 0. Smith.
