LONGBURN.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LONGBURN, Sept. 20. On Monday evening Mr and Mrs J. Hearsey gave a most enjoyable party at their residence at Karere. The time was spent in games, competitions and dancing, and a dainty supper was served. A . competition was won by Miss L. Hearsey, a lucky packet by Mr I. Fraser, and a statue dance by Miss E. Jeffrey and Mr A. Fisher. At a suitable interval, Mr T. Amadio thanked the hostess for her hospitality. Those present were: Mr and Mrs J. Hearsey, Mr and Mrs T. Amadio, Misses L. and J. Hearsey, E. Jeffrey, McLeod, J. Shirriffs, Messrs J. and F. Hearsey, E. Jewell, I. Fraser, D. and R. Rowland, J. Fletcher, R. Tanner, A. Fisher, S. Rowland. The friends of Mrs Fawcett will bo pleased to learn that she has recovered from an accident she sustained some weeks ago, when she sprained her ankle. Mr and Sirs L. Steele, ' of Palmerston North, have been spending a few days with ilr and Mrs Johnston, Karere.
