FAKIRS KILLED.
KIDNAPPING SUSPECTED. Received September 21, 10.5 a.m. CALCUTTA, Sept. 20. Fakirs suspected of kidnapping children at Lucknow were chased a mile till they were exhausted, when an angry mob attacked, stoned and left them for dead on the roadside. One crawled to a railway station and attempted to board a train when he was rescued and taken to hospital where he died. Tlie others succumbed en route to hospital. The attack was due to the rumours of kidnapping children as human sac rifices under a new building.
