WOMEN’S INSTITUTES.
LONGBURN GROUP FORMED. Women’s institutes of tho surrounding districts were represented at a meeting held in the local hall on Tuesday after'lioon, to consider the question of forming a group, Mrs Davies presiding. Bowls of spring flowers and foliage wore placed on the tables, which added much brightness to the hall. Miss Grant, vice-president of the federation, was in attendance and explained the advantages which institutes may receive by the formation of a group, and, on the motion of Mrs D. Rowland, it was resolved that a group be formed and that Tiakitahuna, Long-burn, Kairanga, Milson, Aokautere and Tiritea be included, with Lengburn as the centre. Mra Lemberg (Longburn), was elected president and Mrs Davies (Tiakitahuna), group convener. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Miss Grant. Afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Mesdames D. Buchanan, C. Croucher, hi. Amadio and Miss Jeffrey.—Tiakitahuna correspondent.
