Under Section 61 of the Electric Power Boards Act, the Kiwitea County, ' Council yesterday passed the formal resolution authorising the county clerk to collect the uniform rate of l-16d in the £ as struck bv the ManawatuOroua Power Board. 1 The Iviwitea County Council yesterday granted leave of absence to the chairman, Cr. L. T. McLean, who is at present undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Feilding. The matter of the councillors making their annual trip through the various ridings in the Kiwitea county was discussed by the council at its meeting yesterday, arrangements being made for the trip to take place during the first week in October. Notification of the appointment of Mr A. Campbell, chairman of the Oroua County Council, as the Government representative on the Assessment Court to sit in Feilding shortly to hear objections to valuations under the Urban Farm Lands Rating Act, was received by the Feilding Borough Council, yesterday, from the Department of Internal Affairs. Mr A. J. Geary, of Feilding, has been appointed the council’s representative on the Court, and probably’ Mr R. M. Watson, S.M., will be the chairman. Good progress is being made by No. 2 Cub Pack of the Feilding Boy Scouts. The cubs are under the charge of Cubmistress E. Young and assistant Cubmistress M. Fitpatrick, and are showing keen interest in all branches of their work. The roll strength is 22.
