The Geraldine Racing Club’s meeting opened to-day on the Orari racecourse, the ' weather conditions being entirely favourable. Tho track was in excellent condition after recent rain and there was a representative attendance. A length; half a length. WANGANUI MEETING POSTPONED. HEAVY RAIN FALLS. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Sept. 21. The-first day’s racing of the Wanganui Jockey Club’s spring meeting has been postponed until to-morrow owing to heavy rain which set in last evening and is still continuing. It is some 40 years since rain has caused the postponement of the races here.
