The Palmerston North Fire Brigade has received a donation of £2 2s towards the brigade’s social fund from the National Bank in recognition of its services at an outbreak of fire at the bank premises recently. On Monday night the Palmerston North branch of the W.E.A. held a play reading, the play being “The Ship” by St. John Ervine. The attendance was quite satisfactory.
