PLUNGE OVER BANK.
CAR DRIVER INJURED

Two residents of AVaitakcre, on the North Road, were awakened early this morning by a banging on the door. They found a man drenched and covered in mud and bleeding on the doorstep. He said. "My car went over the bank,” and tTien collapsed. It was not until daylight that the car was discovered at the bottom of a gully 80 feet deep. ~ ' . ... The driver evidently missed the sharp bend and plunged over. He has been identified as Mr George Brewer, a radio salesman, aged 32. His condition on admission to hospital was serious, but he was reported to have improved to-day.
