ATTACKED BY BULL

MAN’S LEG FRACTURED. ANIMAL LATER DROPS DEAD. AVHANGAREI Feb. 8. While engaged in tallying a new shipment of stock in readiness for killing at Moerewa, Mr Bertram Bain, a married man, aged 35, received. a severe bruising and a fracture of the leg as the result of being tossed by a bull which suddenly attacked him. Unlike the> other men working with the new arrival of stock, Air Bain was on foot. When he had momentarily turned his back the animal charged him, tossing him several times in the air. Fortunately the beast was a Polled Angus, otherwise the man’s injuries would have been more serious. The other men' who were attending to the stock were on horseback and before the infuriated animal could do more damage to Mr Bain they had galloped their horses between the man and the bull. Within half an hour the bull fell down dead. It is thought the attack must have been caused by some type of brain storm, which was ultimately the cause of the animal’s death.
