LAW ON LAND AGENTS.
PETITION FOR AMENDMENT. WELLINGTON, Feb. 8. The petition of John Miller, Wellington, praying for an amendment of the law relating to land agents, was referred by the Public Petitions Committee of the House of Representatives to the Government for favourable consideration. The report was agreed to. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr H. E. Holland, said it was time the Government took the question raised in the petition in hand without delay. He did not think any charge could be made against land agents generally, but in the case mentioned fn the petition a land agent had taken £SO of petitioner’s money without disclosing the existence of a second mortgage.
