JOCKEY KILLED.
ACCIDENT AT TAKANINI. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 26. An apprentice jockey, Gerald Edvards, aged 18, attached to the stables of Mr P. E. Pope, of Takanini, was killed this morning. He was riding Substation in company with Speedmint when his mount stumbled and he was thrown to the ground, the horse falling on him. His skull was fractured and he was killed instantaneously-
