FOXTON
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Jan. 25.
The fire alarm sounded on Tuesday morning shortly after 10 o’clock, the outbreak being located in a toi toi bush on Mr W. Bowden’s property. No damage was done. Last evening two cars came into violent collision at the intersection of Norbiton Road and Russell Street. Fortunately no one was injured. On Tuesday evening tho Foxton Surf and Life Saving Club held a tabloid sports mooting in the municipal baths. Tho results were as follow: Girls’ 25 yards.—R. Halidono 1, S. Barron 2. Girls’ dive: R. Halidono 1, G. Baird 2. Men’s 50 yards handicap: G. Shaw 1, \V. Hirini 2. Men’s pillow fight: W. Ilussoy and A. Bail'd (dead heat) 1. Men’s ribbon dive: G. Hirini 1. K. Martin 2. Men’s dive: L. Coley 1, W. Hussey 2. Men’s 75 yards medley: W. Hirini 1, G. Hirini 2. Flying Squadron: Hirini’s team 1.
