SHIPPING LINE.
CANBERRA, Sept. 16. The Prime Minister, Mr J. A. Lyons, answering Mr Beasley (Lab.) in th? 9 House of Representatives, _ said the Government had been watching the operations of the Matson Steamship Line for some considerable time with an idea of protecting the interests of Australian and Empire shipping lines. The whole matter was very difficult, said Mr Lyons, but until he had a report from the Ottawa delegates, who also had it under consideration, he could not disclose what action was being taken.
