VALEDICTORY.
At the Takapau Golf links a few days ago Mr H. McKee had a popular win of both tho Griffith and E. It. White Cups. At the conclusion of the play, the opportunity was taken to farewell Mr McKee, who has been a particularly enthusiastic secretary of the club for the past two years, and who is leaving to join the staff of the Bank of New Zealand, Dannevirke. The club captain, Mr C. C. Callender, on behalf of the members, voiced the appreciation that all felt for the admirable manner in which Mr McKee had carried out the secretarial duties of the club, for the personal regard in which he was held by all, and wished him all happiness and success as a golfer, and as a member of the institution to which he is attached. Mr Callender asked Mrs J. B. A’Deane, the ladies’ captain, to make a presentation to Mr McKee of a wristlet watch suitably inscribed, and the recipient, who was greeted with musical honours, in responding said that any service he had rendered to the club bad always been a pleasure to himself.
