RECORD BID REFUSED. (British Official Wireles.) RUGBY, April 18. Art experts from Europe and America were present at Lambton Castle, Durham, to-day when many worldfamous works of art from the collection of Lord Durham were auctioned. Lawrence’s portrait, “Red Boy,” was withdrawn at £95,090, the largest bid ever made for a picture in England. The offer was refused.
