FISHERMAN DROWNED.

A young fisherman, Alexander Nelson, aged 20, was washed overboard from his boat at Turihana beach, and though a companion, Reginald Hart, made a gallant effort at rescue Mr Nelson was drowned, having been hampered by two pairs of trousers and heavy gum boots.
