A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association met to-day, Mr M. A. Eliott presiding over a large attendance. The Director of the Palmerston North Technical School (Mr G. G. Hancox) wrote 1 hanking the committee for its donation. . Mrs L. A. Abraham, on behalf of the All Saints’ Children’s Home Committee, wrote expressing, appreciation of the loan of forms and tables and for other assistance, including that rendered by tho association’s caretaker, for the garden party. The committee in charge of the recent sports gathering of tho Convent Schools wrote thanking tire association for its courtesy and generosity, which had enabled them to give tho children a happy day. The executive of the Manawatu Coop Herd Testing Association wrote expressing appreciation of the committee’s assistance in offering tho free use of the Showgrounds for the purpose of holding the first mnrked calf fair in the district, but regretted that as the required number of entries had not been received they would not avail themselves of the generous offer.
The National Mortgage and Agency Company or New Zealand, Ltd,, wrote intimating that their special prize would be available again. The manager of the Longburn works (Mr Rogerson) said he should be glad to assist tho committee in any way possible.
The Mayor (Mr A. E. Mansford) wrote • expressing regret at having been unable to attend the annual meeting of tho association. Tie said he would like it to be understood that it was not duo to apathy, but purely on account of the constant daily demand made on his time by tho large number of unemployed. He had always taken, and would continue to take, a keen interest in the association and the furtherance of its interests.
The Corriedale Sheep Society wrote asking that recommendations for judges be submitted by the A. and P. Association as soon as possible.
