BLOCKAGE AT DAM.
The question of tho blockage in the outlet pipe of the dam at the Tiritea reservoir was brought up by Cr. Hodgens at tho City Council meeting last evening. He asked if any steps had been taken to give attention to the matter. The engineer (Mr Hughes) intimated that ho had previously informed the council that the matter would have to be left until the end of autumn in order to ensure that plenty of water is available in the eventuality of an accident. The Mayor: When are you going to do it? The engineer said that in all probability a report upon the matter would bo submitted to the works committee next week.
