CAR OVER BANK.
Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, April G. Four persons were injured at Dobsoil, five miles from Greymouth, this evening when a car wherein they were returning to Hokitika from the Ileefton races went over a bank, somersaulting into a graval pit 15 feet deep. The following were sent to hospital: Malcolm Houston, sgnr., who was driving, Mrs Hall, his mother-in-law; and Mrs Boyd, all of Hokitika. Some bones wero broken in each case, but further details are not available. Mr Houston’s wife was slightly injured, while his soil escaped injury. Their car met one driven by Mr John Smeaton, Mayor of Brunner, and evidently tried, owing to lack of room, to pass on the wrong side, the cars touching before Mr Houston fell. It landed upside down and the occupants were extricated by ripping out tho side of the ear, which was much damaged.
