Delegates at a meeting of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation today expressed astonishment at the statement made in tho House of Representatives by Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates on Tuesday to the effect that the absorption of labour in local manufacturing industries had almost reached saturation point. The opinion was expressed that there wero many avenues for employment unexplored, and it was considered that proper development would ensure substantial employment.
