SEASON DRAWING TO A CLOSE. The continuation of the cricket fixtures at the Sportsground to-morrow will mark the concluding stages of play in the competitions where senior players are concerned. The opening day last week-end saw High School attain a commanding position against United, while Palmerston are in a promising position to secure tho victory over Old Boys. It would thus appear that Palmerston will emerge with tho season’s honours morn comfortably than had been indioated earlier. At present Palmerston have 19£ points to their credit, United l£>i, High School 6 and Old Boys 6. While senior players will probably devote the two remaining Saturdays which are available for play to friendly games with outside teams, the juniors will carry thoir competition play further. To-mor-row High School (m) will oppose City Council at tho Sportsground, Old Boys (m) and Palmerston will meet on the same area, while Kia Toa (m) and Y.M.C.A. will occupy Terrace End Park. The positions in this grade are: Y.M.C.A., 40£ point's; Old Boys, 37£: Palmerston, 30i; City Council 30; High. School, 9; Kia Toa, Bs. . Tho third grade fixtures for to-morrow are:—Kia Ora (m) v. Albion at High School ground: Gordon (m) v. Technical at Terrace End; Phoenix (m) v. Primary Schools at Sportsground. The positions of the teams are: Albion, 35 points; Technical, 25; Plioenix, 22; Gordon, 20; Kia Ora, 10; Primary Schools, 3. The following team will represent Primary Schools: —Collis, McVicar, Hoskings, Goldfinch (Central), Hardie, Jefferies, Mason, Cameron (Terrace End).
