(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, March 10. Flock House defeated Rangitikei Factory at cricket this week by 18 runs on tho first innings of a very enjoyable match played at Parewanui. Factory made 52 in their first innings, Ingram (12) and Cutts (10 not out) being the only players to get into double figures. Flock House replied with 70, Farrow hitting out nicely for 25, and Sutton (16) and Campbell (14) also batting well. In their second innings Factory lost 8 for 87 and declared, Westwood making 20, Howard 15 and Cutts 14 not out. Flock House played out time, putting on 63 for the loss of 5 wickets. Lundy. The monthly meeting of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held on Monday, and, considering the many counter attractions, the attendance was very good. The 6um of £3 was voted to tho community chest. The next meeting being the annual meeting, it was decided to make it a social afternoon, and to conduct a "bring and buy” stall. Members of the Ladies’ Hockey Club and friends to the number of about seventy tendered Miss Bessio Wicks a kitchen evening in Clifton Hall oil Friday last, and an enjoyable timo was spent with music, dancing and games, those contributing the musical programme including Misses Kearney and Simpkin, Mrs Butler (piano), Mr Butler, Mr McKinnon (violin), Misses Kirkwood and Wicks, and Messrs Burtt and Sanson (3). Miss Cooper, on behalf of the Hockey Club, wished Miss Wicks happiness in her married life, and Mr Sanson suitably responded. The annual general meeting of the Bulls Football Club was held on Tuesday evening, the president (Mr E. A. Caldow) presiding over an attendance of over sixty players and supporters. Proceedings were most enthusiastic, and it was decided to enter senior, junior and third grade teams in the Rangitikei sub-union’s competitions. Doubts were expressed as to whether Bulls could field a senior fifteen, but after a discussion it was decided to do so. Junior and third grade players appear to be numerous, and a successful season is anticipated. The annual report road was as follows: —"The senior team commenced very well by winning the Bailey Cup, and were also leading in the competition at the end of the first round, but during the latter part of the season failed to kvo up to their earlier form. The junior team had some very close games, apd at times gave bright exhibitions, and they are to be commended for the splendid manner in which they kept together. For the first timo for many years the club was able tp field a fourth grade team, and they did particularly well, having to play off with Marlon Old Boys for the final. The committee desire to place on record tho valuable services rendered by Mr 11. 11. C. Holland for his coaching of the fourth grade team. From tho senior and junior teams several players were selected for representative honours, and we trust that in the coming season tho form of the playere will warrant the various selectors again requiring their services. Wo regret to record the death of ono of our .oldest and keenest supporters, Mr Alfred Green. During the year a special general meeting of the club was called for the purpose of having a standard set of rules set up, and copies of these are now in the hands of the secretary. Wo are pleased to report that the finances of the club are exceptional y sound. Wo again had our annual ball, which was a success, not only financially, but in the able manner everyone concerned carried out their duties to place tho ball on a: very high level. The success of the ball was to a very largo extent due to the cooperation and organisation of tile ladies. We feel sure that no other body holding a ball could havo bad greater help from the ladios than we did, and we desire to thank them most sincerely for their efforts In conclusion I desire to thank tho officers of the club for their splendid assistance throughout the year, and am certain that with tho same goodwill displayed during the coming season as m the past t ie welfare of the club will be assured. The secretory (Mr F. Cutts) presented the balance-sheet for tho past year, which showed that the club was in a sound financial position. The sum of £65 stands at fixed deposit, and roceipte include: Donations £l2 10s 6d subscriptions £4 17s 6d, insurance fees £3 ss, gate takings £3O 14s. ’bus fares collected £8 14s 6d, annual ball £s(l 2s 6d On the expenditure fiido were: Remits to Rangitikei Sub-Umon aflihation fee £2 2s, insurance £5 15s 6d, gate monoy £3O 14s, ’bus hiro £l7 10s, jerseys £3 14s sd. The report and baanco-sheet were adopted, members speaking in the highest terms of the management of the club’s affairs. The following officers were elected^—-Patron, Dr. F. J. secretary, and Mossrs E. Westwood, D. O'Connell, J. Coogan, Smillio, T. Dunn, J. P. Bartlett), T. Prichard and Caldow; club captain, Air J. Dwyer; selection committee, the club captain, tho captain, and Air S. Sharp; ground committee, Alessrs L. V. Homes, T. Dunn, Smillio and Westwood. Messrs Vile and Caldow eulogised the work done by the secretary, who was unanimously voted an honorarium of £5. Mr Holland, speaking on behalf of tho fourths, said that they had to thank Dr. Watson for a donation. Air Howard for providing transport, and the late Mr Green for assisting in coaching tho young players. The boys were a credit to the club, both on and off the held. (Applause). The chairman moved that a hearty vote of thanks bo accorded to Mr C. C. Price for allowing players to uso his rooms for dressing, and this was carried by acclamation. Mr Caldow moved a vote of thanks to the Press. In conclusion, Air Vile expressed pleasure at seeing so many football enthusiasts presents, which augured well for the success of the coming season. Paying a tribute to tho retiring president, he said : "Before the meeting closes I wish to thank Mr Caldow for the groat work he has done during the yearn in which he has been connected with football in Bulls. I have been associated with him as a delegate to tho union, and Mr Caldow has always taken a very keen interest in tho affairs of the club. The present state of the finances is mainly duo to his efforts, and I wish it placed on record what Mr Caldow has done for the club. (Applause.) Air Caldow, in reply, thanked tho chairman and members for their kind remarks, and said that although he did not have so much spare time at his disposal now, ho would bo “with tho boys’ on every Saturday ho could. A vote of thanks to tho chair concluded a very enthusiastic meeting.
