AUSTRALIAN STAGE PLAYERS.
RETURNING FROM LONDON. LONDON, Dee. 2. Miss Madge Elliott and Mr Cyril Richards, the well-known Australian musical comedy artists, who have been eminently successful in London, will visit Australia under the J. C. Williamson management. They will jail by the Orontes and will undertake a sixteen weeks’ tour, beginning at Melbourne on February 6, in the Dalv’ry Theatre success, “Blue Roses.” Th*<r tour will be limited by their enforced return to fulfil London contracts in July.
Miss Elliott was last in town in 1923, playing load in “The Cabaret Girl,” and taking one of the leading roles in ‘‘Kissing Time,” a musical comedy that had been presented previously in Australia with a different east. Miss Elliott and Mr Ritchards are very well-known to theatregoers. It is pleasant to recall them in “You’re m Cove,” “Yes, Uncle,” “Going Up” and “High Jinks” (revival). As is their due, they have had a wonderful success m Condon, playing at the Gaiety in several notable musical comedy successes. Miss Elliott is the daughter of a well-known Queensland doctor. Mr Ritchard’s people live in Sydney. He had a prominent rol© in “Blackmail,” the successful English talking picture which was screened here some time ago. They are both very popular in the profession.
