On behalf of the staff, Mr Swinbourn asked Miss King to accept a piece of crvstal ware as a memento of her days at College Street. Col. J. H. Whyte, chairman of the School Committee, who was also present, supported the headmaster in his remarks and, in handing Miss King a handsome leather handbag as a token of appreciation from the committee and parents of the children, wished the departing teacher a full measure of happiness in her future career.
