THEFT OF GOODS.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 24. Leslie Harper, a seaman and labourer, and William Henry Morgan, a seaman, were lined to-day for theft of champagne, tobacco and other goods while Harper was engaged in a clean up after a fire. The Probation Officer did not recommend probation, saying that the offence was really looting. Harper was fined £lO, or a month in gaol, and was ordered to repay the value of the wine, £3. Morgan was fined £5, or 14 days in gaol.
