WARDEN’S COURT.
Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, July 24. Holding that the pegging had not been sufficient, the Warden, Mr OrrAValker, in the Warden’s Court to-day, dismissed applications by Frederick William Manton and Godfrey Magnus, of Wellington, for goldmining leases a mile long and 500 feet wide on the Ninety Mile Beach, south, and near Lake Ellesmere, the method proposed for the extraction of the gold being a specially-contrived centrifugal pump. The Warden expressed regret at the rejection on a technicality, as mining should be encouraged as much as possible.
