BOYS’ FLOCK HOUSE.
HOUSEMASTER FAREAVELLED. Mr V. 11. French:, who has been housemaster and Y.M.C.A. secretary at Flock House, Bulls, for the past four years, and who has resigned to accept an important administrative appointment in connection with the Presbyterian Church at Christchurch, was farewelled on New Year’s night, when trainees, the staff and friends assembled at the hostel for the annual social function. Mr French has been very popular at Fleck House and has been associated with the Y.M.C.A. since the war period, having joined up in the Red Trie.ngle service after being wounded.in France. From the trainees of Flock House Mr French received the presentation of a suitcase, from the hostel staff a travelling rug, from the office staff a gold-mounted fountain pen and from the trustees a handsomely bound volume of Kipling’s poems. Mr French, in replying, voiced his regret at leaving the happy associations of Flock House.
