MISHAP TO A YACHT.
DAMAGED DURING GALE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Jan. 2. According to private advice, the yacht Windward, which left Wellington on Christmas Day for the Chathams and arrived yesterday afternoon, was Hove to in a gale for twelve hours and On Wednesday seas carried away the m/ain sheet and the topping lifts, freeing the main boom, which broke loose and carried a man overboard. He was promptly rescued and the boat was again hove to for three hours while repairs were effected.
