MAN AND WOMAN FOR TRIAL.
Per Press Association. , - NAPIER, Sept. 19. A sequel to the burglary and fire in sample rooms in' Herschell Street, Napier* on July 19, was heard'in the Police Court to-day, when John Lee Aston and' Mary Bridget O’Neil were committed for trial • 'on charges of arson, breaking' and ente-ring and theft. Seyeral witnesses gave evidence that the male accused approached them and offered for sale clothing similar to that stolen.
' Both accused denied knowledge of the crime, A-- witness -called tor - the defence said that'lie slept ,at the house of: accused,.on, the night of the fire and that no one'could’have left without, rousing him. In view of this, counsel contended that accused could only be charged with receiving. However, the justices committed them for trial on all three charges. 1 <
