WEDDING.

PITCAITHLY—SIMPSON. A wedding of much interest to residents of Rangitikei and the Manawatu was that of Jean, elder daughter of Mrs Simpson and the late Mr A. G. Simpson, of Hunterville, to Dr Pitcaithly, eldest son of Mr and Mrs George Pitcaithly, of Remuera, Auckland. The marriage took place on August 6 in the Presbyterian Church, Hunterville, Mr A. Nicholls being the officiating minister. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr Grant Simpson, was attended by Miss Reena Simpson and Miss Mary Mowat, as bridesmaids, and by her two ' little nieces, Sheila and Elspeth Simpson. The Hunterville Pipe Band assembled and played the bridal party into the church, and on its departure. The church was beautifully decorated with white heather and native foliage. The bride wore a long graceful frock of parchment satin, with tight bodice, and the skirt falling into deep flares. She carried a sheaf of Iceland poppies, Christmas roses and stephanotis. Her long veil was surmounted by a coronet of orange blossoms. The bridesmaids looked charming in ankle length frocks of powder blue lace and georgette with georgette coatees to tone. They wore large hats of blue felt and crinoline straw, and carried posies of yellow primroses, daphne and maidenhair fern. The two little girls wore Kate Greenaway frocks of powder blue velvet, and each carried a - beautiful French doll. Mrs C. A. .Stewart (Taihape) presided at the organ. Mr Ngata Pitcaithly, of . Auckland, was the best' man, and Mr Tom Anson, of Wellington, was groomsman. After the ceremony Mrs Simpson received the guests at “Glenmorven,” where afternoon tea was partaken of in a large marquee erected in the grounds. After the loyal toast was duly honoured the toasts of the bride and - bridegroom and' the bridesmaids were enthusiastically received. The bride left for her honeymoon wearing a beige tweed frock, and deeper beige coat with large fur collar and cult's, , and hat and shoes to tone. Among the many guests present were Mr and Mrs R. L.
