BASKETBALL.
WEDNESDAY MATCHES. The Manawatu basketball competition was continued yesterday afternoon, results being as follow: Convent Old Girls defeated Convent A 16— 4; referee, Miss Wischnewsky. The Technical Old Girls v, Convent High School 13 match was postponed. Two teams' representing Foifton Old Girls played matches against Technical -A and B teams, good, games resulting. Technical A defeated Foxton Old Girls A 3—2 after a very good game, in which there was an excellent exhibition 'of passing. Technical B defeated the Foxton B team s—o. Miss Vautier refereed both matches DRAW FOR SATURDAY. The draw for Saturday is as follows: Tiro Tiro Ake v. Technical A, Tiro grounds at 2 p.m.; referee, Miss Vautier. * Technical B v. Y.M. Gym., on Technical School Grounds, at 2 p.m. ; referee Miss Knight. All Saints v. Technical C, Convent grounds at 2.15 p.m. ; referee, Miss Wischnewsky. if.W.C.A. v High School Old Girls, on Y.Sv.C.A. grounds, at 2 p.m.; referee, Miss L'eydon. Convent Old Girls, a ’bye.
