BAINESSE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BAINESSE, April 11. The following report is presented by the committee at the annual meeting of householders The usual work has been carried out to the grounds and school. The grounds have been mown on several occasions, the hedges trimmed, the roses oh the trellis work have been cut back, also some of the shrubs have been pruned. Small repairs have been done to the outhouses and sheds. The track leading to the swings has been filled wfth spoil and tho tennis and basket ball courts have been cleaned up from time to time Fences in the horse paddock have been repaired, and a roll of wire, netting and a number of new battens have been. obtained for tho purpose. The bank adjoining the fence has been lowered, which will' now make a better drainage for the paddock. The committee very much appreciate the splendid way the flower beds havo been kept by the head teacher (Mrs Gray) and tho pupils in their gardening periods. Mr Roydhouse, physical culture instructor, visited tho school recently and interviewed the chairman respecting a swimming pool for tho children and strongly advocated the same. The committee suggested that the matter be held over until after the householders’ meeting. Tho annual picnic was Held in Mrs S. Pearce's bush, but unfavourable weather compelled the necessity of holding a second one, which was quite a success. The school account shows a, credit balance of £ls 4s 7d and tho social account £6 19s lOd.
