LONGBURN.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LONGBURN, April 12. The annual general meeting of the Longburn Hall Society (incorp.f was hold this week. Mr F. S. Birch oocupicd the chair. There was a small attendance of members and the chairman deplored the lack of interest taken in the society’s affairs by tho residents of the district and expressed the hope that the incoming committee would receive the encouragement in its work which it deserved. The balancesheet which showed a small net credit balance on tho year’s working together with the chairman’s report was adopted. The following committee was elected for the ensuing year:—Messrs F. S. Birch (chairman), P. Meehan, L. Palmer (secretary), T. Ormsby, H. McCoach, F. Brockliss and T. Rowland. The t final of tho Tennis Club’s ladies’ ohampionship singles was played when Mrs Godfrey boat Mrs Grace, 9—3. Tho final of tho men’s handicap singles was also playod, E. Jewell (owe 5) boating H. Maboy (sqr), 65-—47. It is hoped to comploto tho rciriaining competitions shortly.
