BOXING.
PAUL DEFEATS MORGAN. A professional welter-weight contest between Ted Morgan (Wellington), lOst 41b, and Jack Paul (Dunedin), lOst 2 Jib, took place in the Town Hail to-night and went the full distance of 15 rounds. Paul won on points. The result was a surprise. ' Paul showed cleverness in blocking Morgan’s left. Morgan was knocked down in the fourteenth round, being saved from the count by the gong.. The crowd became so excited that they surged round the ring. The decision ivas a popular one.
